CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF JAKE BURTON CARPENTER
Join us on at Buck Hill Saturday, March 15th, 2025 as we celebrate the legacy of Jake Burton Carpenter, the pioneer of modern snowboarding. If you’re a lifelong rider or just getting started, this event is all about honoring Jake’s contributions to the sport and embracing the fun, camaraderie, and progression he championed.
Event Details:
- 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM | Check-in at the Hutch building. Sign up, grab some stickers and sign up for giveaways. (See Village/ Trail Map HERE)
- 12:15 PM – 3:00 PM | Check-in continues at the Burton Tent
- 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Freeride Buck Hill & Spectate the Zombie Boardshop Last Slash Contest
- 3:00 PM | Group Tribute Ride (Meet at the Top of Lakeside Chair Lift, Warner’s Way Run)
- 3:00 – 3:30 PM | Freeride Warner’s Way Run
- 3:30 PM | Toast to Jake at the Top of Lakeside Chair Lift
- 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM | Shred your face off for the rest of the day and have as much fun as possible!

Vintage boards are especially welcome as we pay homage to the roots of the sport. Bring out those classic snowboards and join us in celebrating Jake’s vision and impact. Don’t forget to share your experience using the hashtag #RideOnJake and tagging @burton to spread Jake’s legacy far and wide.
Jake’s journey from a Vermont barn to the forefront of snowboarding is an inspiring tale of passion, perseverance, and community. Despite his immense success, Jake remained deeply connected to the snowboarding community, often spending over 100 days on snow each winter. His spirit, generosity, and love for the sport continue to resonate with riders worldwide.

March 15th is a day to celebrate Jake’s enduring legacy and the joy of snowboarding. Come out to Buck Hill and be a part of this global tribute to a true pioneer.
