INTRO TO SKI RACING

2026/2027

The Intro to Ski Racing program is a one-to-two-year program for kids between the ages of 6-8 who are looking to improve their skiing skills and learn basic ski racing techniques. This program will prepare young athletes to progress to our D-Team and, eventually, the Buck Hill Ski Race Team if desired.

The program is led by passionate and experienced coaches focusing on introductory elements of ski racing, using various drills, elements of gate training, and directed free skiing. The program focuses on transitioning skiers from a wedged to a parallel turn, laying the foundation for ski racing and a lifelong enjoyment of a great winter sport.

Intro to Ski Racing at Buck Hill is an 11-week program that offers the highest level of ski coaching. Watch your child thrive in an environment that nurtures their passion for skiing and racing as they become more confident skiers.

Additional Details:

  • Intro to Ski Racing is not a beginner program.
  • Coaches assess program readiness on first two weekends.
  • This program is very popular and spots are limited. Registrations open at noon on July 7.

Program Requirements:

  • All athletes must be able to ride the chairlift unassisted and ski in control on green runs while making linked turns.
  • Coaches will assess readiness on the first day of training.
  • Must be between the ages of 6 – 8 years old by December 1, 2026.
  • Lift tickets are required and not included in program fee.
