Action-Packed Weekend: Three Events, One Party!
Buckle up, snow-lovers – because Buck Hill’s got more going on this weekend than a snowboarder at an après-ski party! Whether you’re hunting for deals at the annual Buck Hill Tent Sale, throwing down tricks at the Fall Rail Jam, or catching the Teton Gravity Research premiere, it’s all happening in one wild weekend! Clear your calendar, fuel up with coffee (or something stronger), and get ready for a weekend filled with gear, gnarly tricks, and jaw-dropping cinematic stoke.
The Buck Hill Tent Sale (Sept. 27-29)
Skiers, snowboarders, and gear-hoarders, this one’s for you. The Buck Hill Tent Sale is back and bigger than ever, with over 100,000 pieces of winter gear waiting to find their forever homes. Whether you’re gearing up for your first ride or replacing your trusty, duct-taped jacket that’s seen better days, the tent sale is your one-stop shop for everything winter. Bonus? All sales help fund the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team!
Event Details:
Dates: Friday, Sept. 27th to Sunday, Sept. 29th
First Tracks Early Access: Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Bring $20 and elbow your way to the best deals!)
General Hours:

– Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
– Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Why You Should Come:
Gear up the entire family: We’ve got kids’ sizes, youth snowboards, and tiny skis for the pint-sized rippers in your life.
Epic deals: High-end ski racing gear, freestyle snowboards, and lightly-used equipment for anyone on a budget.
Support the future of skiing: All proceeds benefit the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team. Buy gear, support young athletes – it’s a win-win.
If you’re still using gear from the early 2000s (or maybe that ancient beanie your grandma knitted), this is your sign to upgrade. Or if you just need an excuse to buy more winter gear (don’t we all?), we’ve got you covered.
Buck Hill Fall Rail Jam (Saturday, Sept. 28)
The Buck Hill Fall Rail Jam is for the die-hard boarders and skiers of all abilities who can’t wait for snow season to start. You’ll be sliding and grinding on Nevaplast, Buck Hill’s artificial snow surface, in one of two sessions.
Whether you’re sending it on the rails or watching from the sidelines with a frosty beverage in hand, this is where the action’s at. And don’t forget about the High Ollie Contest happening mid-session – this is your chance to show off those hops.
Event Details:
Fee: $20 per session
Session 1 (Snowboard Only): 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Session 2 (Ski and Snowboard): 5:45 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
Capacity: 75 riders per session (so hurry, spots fill up faster than you can say “Shred the gnar!”)
Registration: Opens Sept. 18th at 12:00 p.m.
Prizes: Courtesy of Zombie Boardshop, Ocean Foam, and Buck ‘54 Bar & Grill
Why You Should Sign Up:
It’s the first rail jam of the season! Be the first to throw down on rails before winter even hits.
Nevaplast is the next best thing to snow. Trust us – this is your warm-up before the real powder flies.
Prizes, glory, and bragging rights: Enough said.
If you’re not competing, stick around anyway. There’s nothing like watching skiers and snowboarders throw down while you sip on a cold one. Plus, you can grab killer deals at the tent sale happening just steps away. Multi-tasking at its finest.
TGR Premiere: Beyond the Fantasy (Saturday, Sept. 28)
Once you’ve finished watching the Rail Jam action, grab a seat and settle in for the Teton Gravity Research (TGR) movie premiere of Beyond the Fantasy. And folks, this isn’t your average Saturday night movie. Think big lines, bigger cliffs, and the kind of powder that makes you want to drop everything and head straight for the mountains.
Event Details:
Time: 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Fee: Free (yep, FREE!)
Prizes: Courtesy of Gear West, TGR, and Buck Hill
Why You Shouldn’t Miss This:
Beautiful cinematography: TGR is known for capturing some of the most awe-inspiring footage on the planet. If you love snow sports, this will have you itching to get on the slopes ASAP.
Free swag: Who doesn’t love free stuff? We’ll be giving away prizes all night, so stick around and see if you can score.
Food & Drinks: Buck ’54 Bar & Grill will be open until 11:00 p.m., so hang out with friends, grab some grub, and bask in the post-film stoke.
It’s the perfect way to cap off an adrenaline-fueled day. Hit the tent sale, watch the rail jams, and end the night watching the world’s best athletes throw down in stunning mountain terrain. We’re basically spoon-feeding you the perfect weekend.
All Under One Roof (…Literally)
That’s right, folks, all these events are happening at Buck Hill on the SAME DAY. You heard me – Tent Sale, Rail Jam, and the TGR premiere are happening simultaneously, like some kind of snow-loving trifecta. I hope you’ve been training, because it’s going to be an endurance event just keeping up with it all.
Let’s break it down one more time (because, yes, it’s that action-packed):
Friday:
– Tent Sale opens (get your gear on Day 1 for best picks).
Saturday:
– Tent Sale continues
– Fall Rail Jam goes down from 4:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
– TGR Premiere starts at 8:00 p.m.
– Buck ‘54 Bar & Grill stays open until 11:00 p.m. to keep you fed, hydrated, and happy.
All I’m saying is, you might want to clear your weekend schedule. Tell your friends, bring the family, and make a day out of it – because there’s something for everyone. And remember, you can always hit the tent sale first to snag your gear before settling in for the movie premiere later that evening. It’s basically the ultimate Saturday of snow, gear, and good times.
Bonus: Deals You Can’t Resist
If all this isn’t enough to get you excited, we’ve got more in store:
– 30% Off Buck Hill branded merchandise
– $5 Free for every $25 loaded onto your Buck Hill season pass
So, in short, if you’re a skier or snowboarder in the southern Twin Cities area and you don’t come out for this weekend of epicness, we’ll be really disappointed. Just saying.
