The Excitement Begins: Audi FIS Ski World Cup 2023-2024 Launches in Sölden, Austria with Buck Hill’s Own Hitting the Slopes

As the chill of fall sets in and skiers around the world eagerly anticipate the beginning of a new skiing season, the action is about to heat up in the alpine realms of Austria. The heartbeats of skiing enthusiasts will race a tad faster this weekend, as the grand opening of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup 2023-2024 season begins October 28th – 29th in the breathtaking environs of Sölden, Austria.

While the world’s top skiing stars, including the winningest skier of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin, will be racing down the challenging Austrian glacier, here at Buck Hill, we have our own cause for celebration. Two of our esteemed alumni athletes from the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team – Paula Moltzan and Isaiah Nelson – will be showcasing their prowess on the international stage. Paula, known for her impeccable skill and finesse, has already claimed titles as a world champion (2/14/2023 Courchevel Meribel, FRA – FIS World Championships Team Parallel). Meanwhile, Isaiah Nelson, with his impressive track record, brings that fierce determination and spirit which he has honed right here at Buck Hill.

For fans eager to catch every thrilling turn and jump, the good news is you won’t miss a beat. Peacock will be broadcasting the entire event, live. And the icing on the cake? As we rally behind our alumni athletes and the entire U.S. team, it’s also a gentle reminder of the potential that lies in every young skier. At Buck Hill, we believe in nurturing this potential through a progressive pipeline designed for skill development. For those parents looking to ignite the spark of skiing in their children, start with our foundational ski lessons. As your child gains confidence, they can transition to our Rise program – an introduction to the exhilarating world of ski racing. Following this, our D-Team ski racing program awaits, and at the final stage and pinnacle of the pipeline is the prestigious Buck Hill Ski Racing Team. Who knows, your child might just be the next skiing sensation representing Buck Hill on the world stage!

So, as winter descends and the ski season beckons, here’s to new beginnings, thrilling races, and the indomitable spirit of skiing. Let the games begin!
