Learning to ski and snowboard is easy at Buck Hill! This winter get outside, stay active, and learn something new in a ski or snowboard lesson at Buck Hill! There's a place for everyone in our small group lessons or private lessons.
Youth Lessons (Ages 3-12) are a great way to get the youngsters out of the house to burn energy, make new friends, and discover the joy of skiing and snowboarding. Individuals in group lessons will be placed in small groups based on ability level. Personable and professional instructors make learning engaging and fun in all Buck Hill ski and snowboard lessons!
You'll love an Adult Lesson (Ages 13+) at Buck Hill this winter. With heavily discounted rates found in the Beginner Ski and Snowboard Specials you'll gain the confidence and ability to concur the whole resort! Private lessons are perfect for one on one attention to build your skills at your pace. If you have years of experience or none you'll benefit from attending a ski or snowboard lesson.

ADULT PRIVATE SKI LESSONS

Are you looking to ski for the first time or ‘jump back on the saddle’ after taking a break? No matter what your ski resume entails, our 60-minute Adult Private Lessons (ages 13 and up) are tailored to meet the student’s comfort and ability level. Our lesson levels range from never been on skis to someone with racing experience. Our instructors take pride in tailoring the lesson to meet and help accomplish the students’ goals. We allow up to 4 students in 1 private lesson, but we recommend all students to be the same or similar ability level.

Ready to give skiing a try or need a quick refresher? Our Beginner Ski Special is a 90-minute group lesson designed for skiers ages 13 and up. This is a great option for those who would like to learn the fundamentals of the sport, or skiers looking for a refresher course.
Note: Each student can take the Beginner Ski Special up to 3 times per season

Enjoy winter by learning how to snowboard! Our Beginner Special class is a 90-minute group lesson walking through the beginner basics of snowboarding. This is a great option for those who would like to learn the basic fundamentals of the sport, or snowboarders looking for a refresher course.
Note: Each student can only take the Beginner Snowboard Special class 3 times per season.

WOMEN'S SKI CLUB
Age: 13+
This woman only ski group will help you polish up your skills or break that barrier of getting back into skiing after too many years off - all in a fun, friendly, relaxed environment. We’ll have an area of focus for the first hour and directed free skiing for the second hour. Participants must be able to turn and stop (best for Intermediate to Advanced). Participants must be Intermediate skiers, able to ski comfortably on all blue runs.
Session Format:
11:45-12:00 – Check in at SnowSports Center
12:00-12:10 – Introduction of guests and the focus of the day (inside)
12:10-12:20 – 2 warm up runs
12:20 – Divide into 2 groups
12:20-1:20ish – Lesson
1:20ish-2:00 – Directed free skiing
2:00 on - Option to meet in Buck '54 Bar & Grill

MEN'S SKI CLUB
Age: 13+
The Men’s Ski Club is a men-only ski group designed to help you sharpen your skills or get back on the slopes after a few seasons away—all in a fun, laid-back, and supportive environment.
Each session includes a focused skills segment during the first hour, followed by directed free skiing in the second hour. It’s a great way to improve your technique, build confidence, and connect with fellow skiing enthusiasts.
Participants must be able to turn and stop with parallel skis; this group is best suited for intermediate to advanced skiers.
Session Format:

SUPER TURN & SUPER CARVE SERIES SESSIONS
Super Turn Series (STS) – Levels 4 & 5
A focused training series for Beginner Special graduates and developing skiers ready to take their skills to the next level. The Super Turn Series helps skiers refine their turns into smooth, confident parallels at a comfortable pace while building strong fundamentals for all-mountain skiing.
If either of the following sounds like you, the STS is your ticket:
- You can make controlled turns (wedge or learning parallel) and manage speed on green terrain, riding both chairlifts and surface lifts.
- You can make controlled parallel turns and manage speed on green and blue terrain, and you’re learning pole touches and turn timing.
STS graduates leave with polished parallel turns, solid pole timing, and the confidence to explore steeper and more challenging slopes with control and consistency.
Super Carve Series (SCS) – Levels 6 & 7
A performance training series for Super Turn Series graduates and confident parallel skiers looking to make their turns sing and zing across the entire mountain. This series focuses on carving precision, speed management, and adapting technique to varied terrain and snow conditions.
If either of these sounds like you, the SCS is your proving ground:
- You can make solid parallel turns with consistent speed control and effective pole touches on all Buck Hill terrain.
- You ski with purpose and precision across a variety of slopes and snow conditions.
SCS graduates finish with dynamic carving skills, strong edge control, and the ability to ski any slope, in any condition, with style, power, and confidence.

TINY BUCK PRIVATE LESSON

Tiny Bucks is the perfect way to introduce your preschooler (ages 3–4) to the magic of skiing! These 45-minute, one-on-one lessons are designed just for tiny shredders—whether it’s their very first time on skis or they’ve already had a few snowy adventures. Tiny Buck lessons can be for any ability level ranging from never been on skis to having more experience with the sport. Our instructors tailor each lesson to be engaging and fun for this specific age group so students can learn a love for skiing!

Are you looking for a flexible ski lesson program for your child(ren) ages 4-6 years old? Little Bucks are 60 minute ski lessons for students 4-6 years old. Little Bucks offer classes for ability levels ranging from level 1 (have never been on skis or it’s been years) to level 6 (ready to race). The SnowSports Center targets a 4:1 student to teacher ratio for each class level. Little Bucks can be a 1 time class or a progression program with multiple sessions where students can work through the levels throughout the season. All students are given a progress card to bring back each session or for families to work on the lesson objectives during family or independent ski time.

Ski Race Private lessons are available for alpine ski racers who are 10+ years of age. These lessons for skiers who want to build or advance their existing race skills or learn the sport from the start.
Participant(s) must know some aspects of alpine ski racing or have an understanding. To book a Ski Race Private, please contact the SnowSports Center directly. You may add additional participant(s) to a ski race private lesson for $50 per- participant (max of 3 participants).
