Rock the Hill: Fundraiser for the Fallen Recap
On a perfect September 11th evening, Buck Hill came alive with roaring engines, thumping beats, and good vibes as the Rock the Hill: Fundraiser for the Fallen took center stage. This benefit concert and car show, in partnership with the Burnsville Police and Fire Foundation, combined all the right elements—pristine cars, live music, and a sense of purpose—for a night that was as entertaining as it was meaningful.

The Weekly Wheels Car + Bike Show was a spectacle in itself, drawing car enthusiasts from near and far. The variety of vehicles on display was astounding, from sleek exotics to classic American muscle, ensuring there was something for every car lover. Families and spectators of all ages were treated to the rumbling symphony of engines, including the two high-octane start-ups from the Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 car that quite literally shook the parking lot. This car show wasn’t just about the vehicles, though; it was an experience, blending the love for cars with a communal energy that set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Atomic Beat provided the perfect soundtrack to the car show, performing synth and new wave hits on the parking lot stage as onlookers wandered through rows of gleaming cars. Their upbeat set kept the vibe light and fun, making it impossible not to nod along as you checked out the latest in automotive perfection.

As the sun set, the main stage became the focal point, and it was time for the music to take over. Mike Poot & Justin Burk kicked things off, playing crowd-pleasing covers that got everyone on their feet and ready to party. Their energy was infectious, setting the stage for what was to come.

Clayton Ryan followed with a stripped-back yet powerful set, performing original songs from his new album Ghost Town alongside guitarist Zander. The minimal setup did nothing to diminish their impact, as Ryan’s big stage presence resonated with the crowd, especially as night fell and the stage lights illuminated the scene. His mix of heart-pounding and reflective tracks truly hit home, leaving a lasting impression.

And then came John Morgan. Headlining the event, he delivered a knockout hour-and-a-half set that showcased his latest single, Long Ride Home, along with a string of hits that kept the crowd engaged from start to finish. Whether you were lounging on a hay bale, seated in a lawn chair, or enjoying the elevated view from Buck ’54 Bar & Grill’s deck, the atmosphere was relaxed but electric. Delicious food and cold drinks from Buck ’54 Bar & Grill made the night complete.

With the cars, the music, and the crowd all coming together for a good cause, Rock the Hill was a night to remember. Special thanks go out to the Burnsville Police and Fire Foundation and all the servicemen and women who attended. If you missed this one, be sure to mark your calendar for future concerts at Buck Hill—you won’t want to miss it!
