OPERATIONS UPDATE: SNOWMAKING PROGRESS AND OPENING PLANS
As we inch closer to colder temperatures, we’re keeping a close eye on the forecast and gearing up for the start of our 70th season! For those who might not know, we need consistent temperatures at or below 27 degrees to efficiently produce high-quality snow. Turning on the snow guns for just a few hours isn’t practical—it wastes water (and since ours is metered from the town’s water supply, we’re mindful of every drop) and is an inefficient use of our team’s time.
Starting Monday, we’re seeing a promising snowmaking window, and we plan to take full advantage of it! Our target opening day is Friday, November 29th, 2024 but this will depend on the weather staying cooperative. At this point, it’s too early to predict how much of the resort will be open or which trails and terrain will be ready.

That said, we’re gearing up to push the system to its max (without compromising snow quality) and will allow a day or two to move and shape the snow, ensuring some fresh corduroy is ready for opening day.
Stay tuned—updates will be coming your way throughout the week, and we’ll make an official announcement by Wednesday afternoon. We’re just as excited as you are to kick off another incredible season at Buck Hill!
Thank you for your patience—we know the wait is tough, but winter is just around the corner!
