Due to current weather and snow conditions, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the inaugural Buck Hill 500’.
We were completely sold out at each class level, and we were incredibly excited to welcome you for this unique event. However, preserving the integrity of the hill and ensuring a safe and high-quality race experience are our top priorities – and unfortunately, Mother Nature just isn’t cooperating this time around.
All registered participants will receive a full refund. Please allow 5–7 business days for the refund to be processed and reflected on your credit card or bank account.
The silver lining? This event showed us that the Buck Hill 500 is a viable and exciting addition to our calendar, and we are already looking ahead to bringing it back earlier next season when conditions are more reliable.

Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping day at the Buck Hill 500’ Snowmobile Drag Race on Saturday, April 19th! This inaugural event invites snowmobile enthusiasts to witness and participate in high-speed, uphill drag races on the slopes of Buck Hill Ski Resort. If you’re a seasoned racer or a passionate spectator, this event promises excitement for all.
EVENT DETAILS:
Date: Saturday, April 19th, 2025
Location: Buck Hill Ski Resort, Burnsville, Minnesota
Race Format: Side-by-side, 500-foot uphill drag race in a head-to-head bracket-style competition
SCHEDULE:
8:00 AM: Gates Open
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Check-In and Packet Pickup in Snowsports Center
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Practice Runs
11:00 AM: Drivers Meeting followed by Racing
ENTRY FEE: $50 Per Sled Per Class
REGISTRATION: All participants must register online by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 16th. No on-site registrations will be accepted. Due to parking constraints and to ensure a smooth event, pre-registration is mandatory.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Race director has final say in class placement.
Participants are advised to bring a dolly for their sleds.
Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking space.
Each racer is guaranteed two runs, with losers in the first round moving to the consolation bracket.
Safety gear is mandatory: working tether, Tekvest, eye protection, helmet, gloves, and boots.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION:
Spectators are welcome to join the excitement! Enjoy food and beverage vendors, merchandise stalls, and prime viewing spots to catch all the racing action. Please carpool when possible to help alleviate parking limitations.
