BUCK HILL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Mark your calendars for a day of golf, camaraderie, and charitable giving at the prestigious Buck Hill Ski and Snowboard Resort’s Golf Tournament Fundraiser! The inaugural tournament takes place on Friday, August 11th; this highly anticipated event will be held at the scenic Crystal Lake Golf Course in Lakeville, MN followed by a party reception at the Buck Hill Event Center in Burnsville, MN. Both venues offer a picturesque backdrop that perfectly complements the purpose of supporting two remarkable scholarship funds—the Justin Linde Scholarship Fund and the GDS Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Nestled amidst rolling hills and breathtaking greenery, Crystal Lake Golf Course is renowned for its meticulously designed fairways and challenging yet enjoyable layout. As you navigate the course, your swings will not only test your golfing skills but also contribute to the noble cause of providing deserving individuals with access to higher education and transformative opportunities.
Golfers of all levels are invited to register and form teams. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a passionate beginner, this event welcomes everyone to participate and make a meaningful difference. As you tee off and make your way through the course, you’ll have the chance to engage in friendly banter, forge new connections, and network with like-minded individuals who share a passion for both golf and philanthropy.
The tournament culminates in a heartwarming award ceremony and banquet, where participants and sponsors gather to celebrate the achievements of the day. Prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams and individual players, recognizing their exceptional skills and their invaluable contributions to the cause. This evening of celebration and gratitude provides an opportunity to honor the memory of Justin Linde and George Solner, the inspirations behind the scholarship funds, and acknowledge the profound impact they continue to have on the lives of aspiring students.
By participating in the golf tournament fundraiser hosted by Buck Hill Ski Resort, you’ll create a perfect synergy between sport, philanthropy, and community engagement. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of young scholars, ensuring that educational opportunities are within reach for those who need them the most.
We encourage individuals and businesses to join us as Party Sponsors. If able, we kindly encourage and are accepting contributions for our raffle to be awarded at the post golf reception. Hole sponsorships with activations are available. We need your help to make this a great event, please join us and support as you can.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
Justin Linde Scholarship Fund
Justin Linde (1989-2022) passed away the summer of 2022 after a valiant 4.5 year fight with cancer. Justin was an amazing human with love for the outdoors. His positive attitude was infectious to all and his passion for the outdoors radiated from him. Justin’s career choice was to work in the ski industry, and he took each day as an opportunity to learn. Upon his passing, a scholarship was set up to help an individual in the upper Midwest to attend Gogebic College with financial support each year. This nationally recognized college provides courses for all those interested in pursuing a career, like Justin, in the ski industry. The Ski Area Management Program at GCC is one of the nation’s most comprehensive training programs for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the snow sport industry. Technical and academic study is combined with a practical internship which is conducted at major resorts throughout Coast to Coast. Justin attended Gogebic College, but wasn’t able to finish his schooling.
GDS Memorial Scholarship Fund
George David Solner (1957-2010) was a very passionate designer, loving father, brother, son and friend to many. In honor of all George’s accomplishments, and to carry on his loving spirit, a scholarship fund was established in 2010 to encourage and support high school graduates who desire to continue to pursue George’s passion for art and architecture. The GDS Memorial Scholarship is presented on a yearly basis to an individual graduating from George’s alma mater “Middleton High School” that demonstrates the same passions as George. We all miss him dearly but will never forget his kindness and values he carried.
