ADVENTURE IS BETTER TOGETHER: COMMUNITY AND A REASON TO GET OUTSIDE
Some people sign up for races. Some people chase personal records. And some people just want a reason to get off the couch, enjoy fresh air, and spend time with good people.
This summer, Buck Hill is creating exactly that.
The Buck Hill Community Trail Run Series and Community Mountain Bike Series are free community events designed to bring people together through outdoor recreation. They aren’t races. They aren’t training camps. Nobody is timing your splits, grading your climbing technique, or judging how many gears you use.
They’re simply opportunities to get outside, move, meet new people, and become part of a growing community centered around adventure, fun, and connection right here at Buck Hill.
You might be an experienced trail runner, an avid mountain biker, a weekend hiker, or someone who has been curious about trying something new – it doesn’t matter because there’s a place for you on the hill.
BUCK HILL COMMUNITY TRAIL RUN SERIES
In partnership with Heroes on the Hill, the Buck Hill Community Trail Run Series offers free Saturday morning gatherings throughout the summer from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Participants are invited to run, jog, hike, or walk the Buck Hill Hiking Trails at their own pace. There are no finish lines, podiums, or pressure to keep up with anyone else. The goal is simple: get outside and enjoy the trails alongside others who appreciate being active in the outdoors.
The series also supports a meaningful mission. Heroes on the Hill is a charitable endurance event (September 19th) that raises funds and awareness for mental health initiatives supporting veterans and first responders. Throughout the summer, members of the Heroes on the Hill team will be onsite to share information and connect with participants.
These Saturday community runs offer a welcoming place to begin exploring the trails.
BUCK HILL COMMUNITY MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE SERIES
Mountain biking can feel intimidating when you’re new to the sport. The good news? Every rider started somewhere, and usually with at least one awkward encounter involving loose gravel, a root, or a misplaced sense of confidence.
The Buck Hill Community Mountain Bike Series was created to make getting started easier.
Held on select Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., these free community rides invite riders of all ages and ability levels to explore the Buck Hill Mount Bike Trails system in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Participants can ride at their own pace, meet fellow riders, and learn more about local mountain biking opportunities. You might be preparing for the Freewheel Cup Mountain Bike Race Series or looking for a fun way to spend a summer evening outdoors, these rides are designed to help people connect through a shared love of riding.
No pressure. No competition. Just dirt, smiles, and hopefully more successful turns than unsuccessful ones.
REFUEL AT BUCK ‘54 BAR & GRILL
After your run or ride, keep the good times rolling at Buck ’54 Bar & Grill.
It’s the perfect place to grab a meal, enjoy a cold beverage, and spend a little more time with friends old and new. As an added bonus, all Summer Activities Season Pass holders receive 10% off food and beverages throughout the summer.
Because every great adventure deserves an equally great post-adventure meal.
TRAILS, BUT MORE
We know these programs may start small. That’s okay. Most great communities do.
Our hope is that Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings become something people look forward to all summer long. A time to meet new friends, enjoy the outdoors, challenge yourself, and discover everything Buck Hill has to offer.
Adventures doesn’t always have to be grand. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, saying hello, and taking the first step down the trail.
We’ll see you out there.
